Muskan Sharma ( B.Sc. Electronic Media)

Hello everyone this is Muskan Sharma from 1st year B.Sc electronic media.. while others picked safe careers, I picked stories.
I chose media & journalism because I’m deeply curious — about people, emotions, and the power of storytelling. Electronic Media, especially, felt like a world where visuals speak louder than noise. I didn’t want a life where every day feels the same. MCU felt like a place where I can grow, make mistakes, learn, and still feel seen. My dream? To say things that most people are scared to say — through visuals, voice, or silence. I hope MCU helps me become that version of myself.

Saloni Singhai ( M.A. Broadcast Journalism)

I chose the Media & Journalism field because I have always been passionate about storytelling, current events, and giving people a voice. From a young age, I was drawn to news, documentaries, and public speaking, and I realized how powerful the media is in shaping opinions, raising awareness, and driving change in society. I chose to study Electronic Media because I’ve always been deeply interested in how audio-visual content can influence, educate, and connect people on a large scale. My expectations from MCU are clear: I want guidance, mentorship, and opportunities. I expect a culture of creativity, discipline, and innovation where I can explore my potential, learn from my mistakes, and prepare myself for the challenges of the media world. I believe MCU will help me grow both personally and professionally.

Adarsh Kathane ( B.Sc. Electronic Media)

Through the media and my thoughts and opinions, I take a stand for those people who still face corruption, backwardness, and a lack of resources. Through my dedication and skills, I hope to bring some changes with the help of this field. In my opinion, media is not only for entertainment; in fact, media investigates incidents, analyses all types of voices, and through its content, proves whether an incident or a person is right or wrong. This is the biggest reason why I like this field. I see media as both a passion and a curiosity. It is my dream to become a part of the media industry in the future, and I believe my dream will become a reality through my hard work and with the guidance of my teachers and my college, Makhanlal Chaturvedi University

Jyoti Shukla ( M.A. Broadcast Journalism)

I was never inspired by any media personality; I believe I was born with the qualities of a journalist. Since childhood, I’ve loved speaking openly, exploring new things, debating topics, and expressing my thoughts. I enjoy listening to people, understanding their perspectives, and sharing my views.
During school, I always took part in speeches, debates, and anchoring during functions. My teachers and friends often praised me, saying that I had the natural qualities of a journalist. Their encouragement deepened my interest in journalism.
While searching for the best journalism colleges, I came across IIMC and MCU. I appeared for the CUET exam but couldn’t get into IIMC. Fortunately, I secured admission in MCU, one of India’s top journalism colleges.
I chose electronic media because I believe both visuals and sound add more power to news, and I enjoy speaking in front of the camera.
From MCU, I hope to gain the right skills, guidance, and direction that will help me become a skilled journalist and achieve my dreams.

Aditya Sharma ( B.A. Mass Communication )

I’m from Bhopal, and since my school days, I’ve been passionate about debates and participating in various activities. Journalism and mass communication are called the fourth pillar of democracy, as journalists connect ground-level stories to the top 1% of society. Whether it’s the pride of an Olympic gold medal or a tragic road accident, it’s the journalist who delivers the truth to the masses. This field gives me inspiration, courage, and a fresh perspective. I’ve been influenced by journalists like Shishir Upadhyay, Saurabh Dwivedi, Rajat Sharma, Sudhir Chaudhary, and Sadhika Tiwari.
Makhanlal Chaturvedi University, located in my hometown Bhopal, is one of the most respected journalism institutes in Asia. My expectation from MCU is that it shapes me into not just a professional journalist but also a responsible citizen who works for the people’s welfare.

Saloni Bhardwaj ( B.Sc. Electronic Media)

My name is Saloni Bhardwaj. I have taken admission this year at Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication in B.Sc Electronic Media. I chose this field because its work culture excites me. The idea of shaping people’s opinions and covering issues that affect society motivates me. Honestly, it’s the work culture, the skills one gains here, and the confidence to show the truth that inspired me to pursue this field. Unlike other freshers, I don’t really have any big dream, but I do have clear expectations from MCU. I want to learn, get skilled by the end of my course, build confidence, and most importantly, get a decent job after completing my studies.

Adesh Chauhan ( M.A. Broadcast Journalism)

I chose the journalism field because it is my passion, and I enjoy talking to people. The main reason I chose media and journalism is that many things are going wrong in our society, like superstition, corruption, and unemployment. I want to bring change through journalism and provide the right information to people. My inspiration and idols are Sweta Singh and Anjana Om Kashyap ma’am. I want to become a journalist like them, as they are fearless, brave in field reporting, and work hard without breaks. My dreams and expectations from MCU are clear—I want to get placement in national news channels like Aaj Tak, Republic Bharat, etc., to give a strong start to my career. I hope MCU trains us from day one with a focus on placements in top news channels, so we get placed easily without any struggle.

Shivani Ubale (B.Sc. Electronic Media )

Hello, I am Shivani Ubale. I was a kid who always loved creativity and new thoughts. I came to know that media is one of such fields which includes these and lot more. Since then, I decided to pursue my studies in media and journalism.
Firstly, as we know media means mix of mass communication, electonic media, films, advertising etc.. I feel that one can change or influence the world with good intentions and gratitude. Now, media is a powerful weapon as it is a method of strong communication. It helps the transmitter or influencer to spread information or awareness, share their talents, express themselves and many more. This inspired me to pursue my studies in journalism and mass media.
Secondly, let me tell you that I’m very much interested in social media, content creation, script writing, films, journaling, and multimedia. As it is a global platform for everyone. To learn these I need guidance, support and opportunities. So, I have choosen MCU to pursue my media and journalism studies hoping that it will provide me with everything.
While, growing up I’ve been realised that media is my passion because of my love towards that field. So, I’m just a student looking for what I can do in future.

Pallavi Priya (M.A. Broadcast Journalism)

I chose the Media & Journalism field because I have always been passionate about storytelling, uncovering the truth, and raising voices on social issues. This field gives me the power to inform, influence, and inspire society. I like giving daily updates on what’s happening in the country—whether it’s crime, politics, or social issues. I believe in standing with the truth and supporting honesty. I want to become a journalist to serve my country and contribute to its progress.
I was inspired by the impact that media has on shaping public opinion and creating awareness. Watching influential journalists and media personalities made me realize the importance of responsible communication in society.
My dream is to become a skilled journalist and media professional who can bring positive change. I hope to gain practical knowledge, exposure, and mentorship from MCU that will help me grow and build confidence.

Shivaji Kumar (M.A. Broadcast Journalism)

I chose journalism at Makhanlal Chaturvedi University because I have always wanted to bring out the truth and become the voice of society. I have a passion for showing the real picture and sharing the unheard stories of people. For me, mass communication is not just a career, but a responsibility. I draw inspiration from those journalists who, even at the risk of their lives, present the truth with complete honesty and fairness. From MCU, I expect that its practical training, experienced faculty, and empowering environment will help shape me into a responsible journalist. My dream is to become a reporter who is fearless, unbiased, and a true voice of the people.

Sakshi ( B.Sc. Electronic Media)

According to me, there are many reasons behind choosing the media and journalism field. In my perspective, the main reason is that journalism is a voice for the public and builds connections among different people. Every story holds some reality, and I want to bring that truth out and make people aware. For these reasons, I chose the media and journalism field.
A lot of things inspired me, but the main reason is the power that electronic media and advertising hold to influence minds, shape stories, and bring change in society. I love the idea of storytelling on screen and want to be a part of this process that connects people and spreads awareness. My curiosity and passion drive me toward this field.
My dream is to become a successful news anchor. I hope to develop into an ethical, informed, and creative media professional. I expect MCU to provide me with proper knowledge, guidance, and support to help me succeed.

Sneha Singh (M.A. Broadcast Journalism)

I have specially chosen Media & Journalism because I have always been curious about the stories behind the headlines. I love how a simple message, when told right, can inform, inspire, and even change minds with positivity. Mass communication isn’t just about cameras or newsrooms; it’s about connecting people and giving them a voice. MCU, with its strong foundation in media education, is the hub where I believe I can turn this passion into skill and explore every corner of this exciting field. Whether it’s anchoring or reporting, I am ready to dive in and find where I truly belong.

Rishika Singh (M.A. Broadcast Journalism)

I’m Rishika, and here’s my story. To be very honest, I didn’t choose this field – this field chose me! I didn’t even know that something like a journalism degree existed. After evaluating my strengths, weaknesses, interests, and habits, my counselor guided me to take this step. As I slowly stepped into this world, every media personality began to inspire me. They taught me that your work can pay you, yet never feel like work. Additionally, my habits of discussing, seeking opinions, debating, writing poetry, and delivering speeches inspired me to stay connected to this field.
Now, being a part of MCU, I hope this journey will be full of new lessons every day. I trust MCU believes in providing practical work experience, not just theoretical knowledge.
My dream is to explore every aspect of the media industry, meet famous personalities, attend big events, film festivals, conferences, and media conclaves. I also expect my MCU journey to include college fests, stand-up shows, poetry writing, speech competitions, and inter-department exchange programs, giving us platforms to perform and create lifelong memories.

Muskan Kumari (M.A. Broadcast Journalism)

I have always loved speaking, connecting with audiences, and delivering accurate information. This passion naturally led me to choose the media and journalism field. My inspiration to pursue mass communication, electronic media, or advertising comes from my upbringing in a small village in Bihar, where educational opportunities for girls are still limited. I wanted to break those barriers and create my own path. My passion for connecting with people, communicating effectively, and sharing accurate information drew me to this field, as I recognize the immense power media holds to inform and empower society.
From Makhanlal Chaturvedi University, I expect not just theoretical knowledge but practical training in news anchoring, reporting, and fieldwork, so I can become a confident, impactful, and responsible news anchor.

Aakashdeep ( B.Sc. Electronic Media)

I come from a small village in Bihar – a place where caste and silence still stand taller than dreams. As a Dalit student, I’ve often seen voices being silenced before they could rise. Growing up, whenever a farm worker’s story was buried or a girl’s education was lost to dowry, something inside me shattered, yet something woke up too.
That’s where my dream of journalism began—not to be seen on TV, but to become a voice for those who are unheard. I chose MCU because journalism here isn’t limited to books; it connects to real stories. I chose B.Sc. Electronic Media because I want to bring change not just through words but through the camera’s eye.
For me, MCU is not just a university—it’s the courage to turn dreams into truth.

Kumari Neha( M.Sc. Electronic Media)

I chose Media and Journalism at MCU because I’m passionate about storytelling and want to create content that makes a difference. I believe mass communication, electronic media, and advertising offer exciting opportunities to engage audiences and raise important issues. My dream is to become a credible journalist who gives a voice to the voiceless and sheds light on real stories.
The dynamic nature of the media industry excites me, as it constantly evolves and encourages creativity. I’m drawn to content creation, visual storytelling, and digital media, and I want to use these skills to influence society positively.
At Makhanlal Chaturvedi University, I expect practical training in multimedia production, video editing, and digital storytelling. I hope to gain knowledge, industry exposure, and technical skills that will prepare me for careers in broadcasting, filmmaking, and journalism. With MCU’s guidance, I aim to become an industry-ready media professional.

Tanushree Gupta (M.A. Broadcast Journalism)

For me, this is not just a course — it’s a mission where I’m searching for my identity.

Sakshi (M.A. Broadcast Journalism)

At every turn in life, there’s always a reason behind our decisions—because decisions shape our destination. The path to my goal passes through this university. My reason for stepping into the media field was my inability to stay confined to one place. Like a journalist, I look for new stories every day. It was current events that drew me towards this field.
During my time at Lady Irwin College, DU, experiences in debates, theatre, and reciting poetry on stage gave me an identity. My desire to speak, to reach people from a platform, guided me onto this path.
My expectations are clear—a good placement. Because placement isn’t just a job; it’s a platform that will give recognition to my skills.

I chose the media field because I’ve been passionate since childhood—watching news reporters, YouTubers, documentaries, and reading newspapers always made me want to become a voice, not just a silent spectator.
I had a YouTube channel in childhood, where I presented my mother’s poetry expressively. I was always drawn towards this field.
I never picked this field for fame.
Over time, seeing how stories get twisted pushed me to pursue real storytelling. MCU, being a media-centric university that has shaped many successful individuals, gives me the space to learn deeply – be it reporting, anchoring, camera handling, and much more.

Story covered by Ayush Singh
